TOTAN Contracting LLC was established in 2019 by husband and wife team, Michelle Martinez & Jonatan (Totan) Portuguez. Both are skilled, hardworking professionals who will do their utmost to provide quality services and meet any deadline.

Their favorite phrase is PURA VIDA, which in English means "pure life" or "simple life". Costa Ricans use the term to say hello, goodbye or to let people know everything's good. For them it is not only a part of their culture but their way of life. They bring this philosophy into their business as they aim to simplify the home renovation process for their customer so they can rest assured...

Michelle Martinez
Co-Owner
Michelle, a native of Puerto Rico, is a Veteran of the U.S. Army where she served a term in Afghanistan. It was in the Army where her training in IT, procurement, inventory management, automation & sales planted the seed that would later drive her to start her own business. Most people are surprised to discover Michelle is not only an astute businesswoman, but also joins the small, but growing, list of skilled, hands on, working female contractors in this male dominated industry.
Jonatan Portuguez
Co-Owner
Jonatan, a native of Costa Rica, has over 15 years of experience in the construction industry. He is a highly skilled & professional home improvement contractor with the broad range of knowledge and expertise required to service both residential & commercial properties. He is also passionate about his work and committed to bringing the highest quality work at affordable prices. Fun fact... Jonatan was nicknamed 'Totan' in his youth for his young niece's inability to correctly pronounce his name!
